Delete Your Account
How to delete your Thetaghorus account and everything attached to it.
This page explains how to delete your Thetaghorus account and all of the data attached to it. There are two ways to do it: from inside the app, or — if you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in — by emailing us.
The official, authoritative version of this page is the Arabic text further down. This English text is provided for convenience.
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app (fastest)
If you still have Thetaghorus installed and can sign in, you can delete your account yourself. It takes effect immediately; you do not need to contact anyone.
- Open the Thetaghorus app and sign in.
- In the bar along the bottom of the screen, tap the YOU tab — the one with the small pixel person icon, announced as الإعدادات by screen readers.
- Scroll to the bottom of that screen, past the sign-out button, to the red text link حذف الحساب (“Delete account”), and tap it.
- A confirmation appears — حذف الحساب نهائياً؟ (“Permanently delete account?”) — summarising the main categories of what will be removed. The full list is the one on this page.
- Tap حذف نهائياً (“Delete permanently”) to confirm. Your account is deleted and you are returned to the sign-in screen.
The app's interface is in Arabic; the English glosses above are for reference only.
Option 2 — request deletion by email
If you have already uninstalled the app, lost access to your devices, or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete your account for you:
Please include the phone number your account was registered with, since that is how accounts are identified. Say clearly that you are requesting deletion of your Thetaghorus account and data.
Deletion requests received by email are actioned manually by a person, so there may be a delay before your account is removed. We do not currently publish a guaranteed response time.
Students whose school issued their access code can also ask their school administrator, who can delete the account on their behalf.
What gets deleted
Both routes above run the same deletion. It removes:
- Your student record — your name, phone number, and your progress and XP data.
- Your chat history — your saved record of every question you asked the AI tutor and every answer it gave.
- AI interaction logs — the internal request logs tied to your account.
- Quiz attempts and lesson-access logs — your recorded answers and which lesson material you opened.
- Session tokens and devices — your sign-in tokens, so every device is signed out and the device slots are freed.
- Push-notification registrations — the tokens used to send notifications to your devices.
- Uploaded images — every screenshot or photo you attached to a question, explicitly purged from our file storage.
Some data is deliberately kept rather than deleted. The access code your school issued is unlinked from you rather than deleted, so it cannot be silently reused; once unlinked it holds none of your personal data.
Our answer cache keeps the text of questions and of the answers given, along with the matching data used to recognise a repeated question, previews of the lesson passages the answer drew on, and a count of how often it has been reused. A cached entry is stored against the AI tutor, not against a student: it carries no student identifier of any kind. The question itself is kept as you typed it, so any personal detail you put into a question stays in that text — which is why it is best not to include personal details in the questions you ask. Deleting your account does not remove the cached entry. The whole cache for a tutor is cleared whenever that tutor's instructions are updated. We may also keep aggregated statistics that cannot identify you.
Separately from the above, our hosting provider keeps application logs of requests to our service. Those logs include your student ID, and deleting your account does not remove them.
Deletion is permanent
Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Your chat history and progress cannot be restored afterwards, and we cannot recover them for you. If you sign up again later you will start with a completely new, empty account and will need a valid access code.
